About the middle of May, the town of La Albuera (Badajoz) reproduces the historical battle that took place there between Napoleonic troops and english-spanish-portuguese troops. It is noteworthy the wonderful cavalries and infantries from different countries, the colourful uniforms and banners, and the scent of the gunpowder.

La Torre Sangrienta. The Bloody Tower of Jerez de los Caballeros
Templars arrived Extremadura with the christian troops, fighting against the arabs. They were living in the south of this region for about one century until the Templars were dissolved by Pope Clement V. The Jerez de los Caballeros fortress' donjon witnessed the unfortunate ending of the Knights Templar in Extremadura.
