PosadaNostra is located in Ribera del Fresno, a little town in a region called Tierra de Barros, known by its gastronomy, excellent wines and warmth.

PosadaNostra is an old mansion built in 1781, restored to incorpore modern features to ensure the comfort of our guest, but the house retains the original architecture: facade, stairways, vaulted ceilings, floors, archs..

The house offers four unique rooms:

Angela. It is the room with most flavour in the whole house. It was the kitchen in the old mansion, and retains the big fireplace, now integrated as an decorative element. It is the cosiest room, with its own character. It's a double room with double bed.

Magdalena is the bigger of the four. Inside it is charming, spacious and beautiful, and the most suitable room for a family. Superior twin/double room.

Annamaria is bright and welcoming, and has its own style. It transmits a feeling of serenity and sweetness. Twin/double room.

Rosaria is the little one, but it is generous and peaceful, bright and cheerful like a rose in a garden. It has the spirit of the old mansion. Twin / double room with hydro-massage bath.

All rooms have bathroom, central heating, and connections for telephone, TV and internet.

The restaurant has three different dining rooms, that retain the splendour of the old house in their frescos and stuccowork, with the simplicity of an inn or an Italian trattoria. Here, up to 50 guests can experience the almost forgotten smells and flavours of traditional home cooking from Extremadura (Spain) and Abruzzo (Italy). All the dishes are prepared with quality natural products, all cooked over a low heat... so slow.

The rediscovery of the pleasures of taking your time whilst eating and of mealtime conversation, and use of good, clean and fair food, are values promoted by the Slow Food movement (slowfood.com) and held by PosadaNostra.

Ribera del Fresno is located near the Sierra de Hornachos mountain range. It is a ZEPA (zone of special protection for birds), so it is a very good place for birdwatching and to enjoy nature.

PosadaNostra is 15 minutes from the A66 highway, that cross Extremadura from north to south. Its a perfect base to visit Merida (Emerita Augusta), Almendralejo, Zafra, Alange, Jerez de los Caballeros (Templar Order).. and all the Badajoz province.
